Research has shown that it is important for high school students to have opportunities to explore career pathways early on in their education, and to have embarked on a pathway upon reaching high school graduation. Work-related skills and talent attraction/retention are cited as a key area for development by employers, both in our community and in the nation as a whole.
The opportunity for Action Team Three is to establish an effective network between local school districts and employers to build the capacity necessary for students to explore potential career paths before they graduate from high school. Action Team Three kicked off their work in August of 2017. The team is currently exploring how local school districts structure their Academic Career Planning, to identify where students could be missing opportunities and to look for areas of improvement. More information will be added as the team works through our Continuous Improvement Process. For updates, make sure to keep an eye on our News page.
